CDF Lecturer 2008



CDF Lecturer Dr Richard Langley, Associate Professor, (left) Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, receives plaque from CDF President, Dr Neil Shear at the CDA Annual Conference, Montreal, 1 July 2008.


Dr Richard Langley, delivered the Canadian Dermatology Foundation Lecture to the Canadian Dermatology Association Annual General Meeting in Montreal in recognition of which he was presented with a plaque by Canadian Dermatology Foundation President Dr Neil H. Shear. The plaque reads:

Dr Richard Langley has been named The Canadian Dermatology Foundation Lecturer for 2008. This award is made in recognition of the excellence of his research and of his address on "Advancing the early diagnosis of cutaneous melanoma at the bedside with laser microscopy".

Dr Langley, of Halifax Nova Scotia, was also awarded a Canadian Dermatology Foundation research grant in support of his ongoing studies using confocal scanning laser microscopy in the early diagnosis of graft-versus-host disease. The Canadian Dermatology Foundation was established in 1969 to further scientific knowledge of skin diseases. The CDF is the leading source of funding for peer-reviewed dermatological research in Canada and grants to date total over $ 5,000,000.
